Privacy policy
Keyrace is a typing game. We keep what the game needs to work and nothing else: no ads, no trackers, no selling data.

1What we store
Your account: username, the name you show, your email (confirmed with a code), and your password as a one-way hash — we can never read it.
What you do in the game: typing results (speed, accuracy, the words and a keystroke log so you can replay a run), races, coins, garage items, clubs and club chat messages, followers.
Sessions: a sign-in cookie, and for each session the browser name and IP address it came from, so you can see and end your sessions.
Guests who never sign up: typing results are kept only in your own browser.
2Why
To run the game: save your progress, rank you on leaderboards, match races, keep clubs working.
To keep it fair and safe: detect cheating (like impossible speeds or scripted typing), stop brute-force logins and abuse.
Your email is used only for sign-up codes and password recovery. We don't send newsletters.
3Who sees what
Public: your username and name, avatar, level, rating, best speeds, race record and garage — like any game profile. Leaderboards show your best results.
Private (you and our moderators only): your email, coins, full history, replays, weak keys and activity.
We don't share or sell your data. Email goes out through our mail provider (Google), which only delivers it.
4Cookies and storage
One essential cookie keeps you signed in (it can't be read by scripts). Settings like your theme, language and sound choices live in your browser's storage. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.
5How long we keep it
Your account stays until you delete it. Keystroke logs are kept for 30 days — longer only for personal bests, daily challenges and results a moderator needs to review. Sign-up codes expire after 10 minutes.
When you delete your account, your profile, results, races, coins and messages are deleted with it.
6Your choices
Change your name, username, avatar and password in Settings, or delete your account there at any time.
Want a copy of your data or have a question? Write to us and we'll answer.
7Children
Keyrace is for everyone 13 and older. If you're younger, ask a parent before making an account.
8Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so on the site before it applies.
